Does NC Medicaid cover doula services?

Not as a statewide benefit, as far as we could verify on September 24, 2026. WUNC reported in March 2026 that North Carolina was not among the states whose Medicaid programs cover doula services. However, NC Medicaid states that many of its Standard Plans offer varying access to and coverage of doula services.
